Dear HTS Families –
Our school is hosting a Follett Book Fair! We are excited to pioneer a new resource for book fairs. I’m hoping you will find it even better than our previous fairs. Some of the differences will be
- No toys and kits
- Lower cost books – some as low as $1.oo
- Less ‘stuff’ that is not books
Supporting a love for reading is critical to student success. Supporting your school is just as important. The Follett Book Fair encourages your child's reading habits, builds their personal libraries and raises funds for the school library, all at the same time. What makes Follett Book Fairs different? Follett has been supporting schools for more than 140 years which means you can expect an awesome selection of titles, from a wide range of publishers. These are the books your children want to read.
Please come to visit the Book Fair! We love to have parents (or grandparents!) shop with their child! The fair will be held during regularly scheduled library classes beginning on November 13 with Day 5 classes (See back for schedule). We will also be open one evening and one morning for those busy families who can’t come in during the school day. Your child is bringing home a flyer from our new book fair company Follett Book Fairs which features SOME of the books available at the fair-- it is NOT a list of all that will be available. Please do not use it like an order form. It’s just for your browsing pleasure. Your child may see other exciting choices when visiting the fair.
This fair is the ONLY fair held at our school. Pleasant Valley School will hold a Scholastic Book fair in the spring which you may visit.
Our fair is also open for a Family Night and a Morning Jam in case those hours are better for you. All proceeds from the fair directly benefit the students as we purchase books for the library with the profits.
Hope to see you at the fair! Mrs. Malloy and Mrs. Sakhleh

Each year the PTA Assembly Coordinators work very hard to bring fun and exciting assemblies to each grade in HTS and PVS; as well as, one assembly for each school as a whole.
The PTA strives to bring in presenters that will communication important information, share learning experience and make positive contributions to student development thus raising achievement and standards. In other words, they underpin the school’s STARS principals and the whole of the curriculum.
HTS will be hosting the Holiday Shop

The school store is always looking for volunteers. If you are interested in helping during the lunch period(s) at either HTS or PVS, please check back for the school and lunch period you would like to volunteer for.

During Teacher & Staff Appreciation week the PTA will hold several events for the teachers & staff members at both HTS and PVS. The Teachers & Staff will enjoy pampering throughout the week and will also be presented with gift of appreciation from the Room Parents during this time.
The position of a school bus driver requires tremendous dedication and responsibility. Every month of the school year, in darkness and daylight, bitter cold and brutal heat they are called upon to deliver our precious students to their places of learning and then home again safely and promptly. They maneuver through traffic regardless of road conditions while maintaining the conduct of the children on the bus and are looked upon for leadership and decision-making in the event of an emergency. I think you would agree with us that the school bus drivers for the Harrison Township Schools go above and beyond for our students and deserve our appreciation and thanks for their service.
